How to prepare a hair and body care OEM brief
The practical details to prepare before discussing formula, fragrance, packaging and samples with Gaofu.

A product brief gives a manufacturing discussion a practical starting point. It does not need to be a finished technical specification. A clear description of the product, customer and packaging direction helps both sides decide what to explore first.
Start with the product and the market
Identify the product category you want to develop. Gaofu’s collection includes shampoo and conditioner, hair masks, body wash, soaps and gift packs. If you are planning several products, list them separately rather than combining every requirement into one description.
Tell us where the collection will be sold and through which channel. A retail shelf, an online store and a distributor’s catalogue can lead to different conversations about pack format, presentation and the information customers need.
Describe formula and fragrance direction
Gaofu’s OEM/ODM services can include formula development and fragrance adjustment. Describe the texture, product format and fragrance direction you want to discuss. If you have a reference sample, explain which characteristics matter to your brief.
Keep desired characteristics separate from final approved specifications. The sample discussion is the place to compare proposed options and record what has been agreed for your project.
Make packaging part of the conversation
Share your preferred bottle or jar format, net content, color direction and artwork status. Include any reference packaging that helps explain the intended presentation. Packaging customization should be considered alongside the product, rather than left until the end.
Prepare an inquiry checklist
- Product category and the number of items in the collection.
- Target market and intended sales channel.
- Formula, texture and fragrance direction.
- Preferred pack size, bottle or jar format, and artwork status.
- Estimated order quantity and intended launch timing.
Minimum order quantities, sample arrangements and production timing should be confirmed for the proposed project. A carton packing figure in the catalogue is not a minimum order commitment.
Agree the next step
Our inquiry process moves from sharing the brief to discussing formula and packaging, confirming samples and planning production. You can start with an existing product or bring a new idea for discussion.
